When I first joined the army back in 2002, I really didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know where I was going and I didn’t know what I was doing.
I didn’t know how to shoot and I didn’t know how to properly tie any type of crazy knots. The saddest part, was I didn’t know what a multitool even was.
I got my first Gerber heading into the start of the Iraq war. It was a gift from my Godfather, who was actually a Colonel out of Ft. Bragg.
It was a very basic tool that got me through the whole deployment without giving up on me. It came with the basics, but it did the job and I didn’t need anything else.
These days, there are an insane amount of multitools out there and I can’t even begin on where to find the best one.
In the end, it is all a matter of what you really need from the tool. However, Gerber has come up with this survival kit that I find to be absolutely awesome.
